TORONTO—For years, some one,600 nurses from Windsor, Ontario, have commuted daily throughout the border to operate in Detroit’s wellness-care procedure, filling a nursing scarcity in the Michigan city.
Now the nurses are at the middle of a heated dispute among Canada and the U.S., as Canadian officials on Friday threatened to cease the important wellness-care personnel from crossing the Detroit River if the U.S. moves to avert St. Paul, Minn.-primarily based 3M Co. from exporting masks to Canada.
