The import share of tender oils such as soy oil, sunflower oil improved to 4,64,861 tonnes (43 per cent) in November as from 4,28,061 tonnes (39 per cent) in November 2019.
Nevertheless the import obligation on CPO (crude palm oil) was lowered to 27.5 per cent from 37.5 per cent on November 27, the obligation on tender oils remained unchanged. “This reduction of obligation on CPO may possibly really encourage larger sized import of palm oil at the cost of tender oil import in the coming months,” he said in the assertion.
