Taliban Seek to Participate in U.N. Gathering in Bid to Win International Support

NEW YORK—The Taliban are in search of to participate in the United Nations once-a-year collecting as component of the Afghan militant group’s effort to win international recognition, following its armed service victory toppled Afghanistan’s U.S.-backed authorities.

The place of work of U.N. Secretary-Normal António Guterres been given a letter from Taliban overseas minister Amir Khan Muttaqi on Monday asking to participate in the U.N. Normal Assembly, in accordance to the U.N. spokesman Stéphane Dujarric.
