Baghdad Angered by U.S. Strikes Against Iran-Backed Group in Iraq

WASHINGTON—Iraqi officers reacted angrily on Friday to American airstrikes versus an Iran-backed team on Iraqi soil, contributing to greater U.S.-Iraqi tensions as the two nations try to jointly defeat terrorist groups working there.

The Pentagon said Thursday it experienced carried out a sequence of strikes versus weapons amenities belonging to Kataib Hezbollah, or KH, an Iran-backed, Shiite militia team based in Iraq that regularly has staged rocket attacks versus American forces there, U.S. navy officers said.
